Left Coast Estate Cali's Cuvée Pinot Noir 2017

Producer: Left Coast Cellars Varietal: Pinot Noir Region: Rickreall, Willamette Valley, Oregon Named in honor of Cali, the winemaker's daughter, Cali's Cuvée is the flagship Pinot Noir of Left Coast Cellars.  It is a select blend of Pinot Noir clones, aged for 8 months in 15% new French oak.  The result is deeply pigmented, with elements of dark cherries, bitter chocolate, and forest floor.  Left Coast is a bastion of sustainable winemaking and integrative viticulture.  They maintain multiple certifications in sustainability, to include Salmon Safe and L.I.V.E. certified.  Their site is powered primarily through solar-energy, and what land they do not give to grapes, they populate with native habitat restoration initiatives or wildflower swaths.  Beehives are kept on the property to encourage pollinator recovery, and the winery itself actively supports numerous local initiatives in sustainable social stewardship.
