Prerequisites: NoneInstructor: Kathleen ElliotThis class will explore a technique commonly called “networking” with borosilicate glass. It’s a lovely, manageable introduction to sculptural flameworking for those who are new to glass, and it can be scaled to any level of expertise.Networking is creating a lattice using thin glass rods and building it into a structure. Networking can be used to create an infinite variety of two and three-dimensional pieces: animals, birds, vessels, ornaments, dream catchers, flowers, leaves and fruits— anything you can dream up.Beginners will start with making small 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional objects of the student’s choosing. Those with some networking experience may make more complex forms.
