Forbidden Island was inspired by 2 black and white vintage tourist photos from tahiti, and a shot I took at the Place Of Refuge on the Big Island of Hawaii. A beautiful wahine watches a wooden schooner drop anchor in an idyllic tropical lagoon with a majestic volcanic mountains in the distance. The 2 menacing tikis watch over her and could portent troubled waters ahead for the visiting sailors. This is archival quality, fine art giclee print on Premium canvas from my original painting, which is part of my tiki art series.
