Fiber Strategy Toolkit (2H 2025)
The Fiber Strategy Toolkit is an essential strategic resource for anyone building fiber infrastructure. It includes nationwide data from the FCC Fabric v6 May/June 2025 release (coverage as of 12-31-2024). The Toolkit exploits the FCC's new hexagonal (H3) framework. It includes a long list of fiber-related data sets, showing both presence (the existence of the specified service) and depth (the percentage of locations in each hexagon served at the specified level). Key dimensions include: Residential at multiple speeds Residential vs. Business Speed of 1000 Mbps/1000 Mbps, 100Mbps/20Mbps, 25Mbps/3Mbps, and any performance. The Toolkit identifies opportunities to build, including areas that are populated but currently have no residential fiber. It visualizes this information by highlighting level 8 hexagons based on location densities of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 300, 400, and 500 locations per level 8 hexagon. Higher densities in general represent compelling business
