Very Fine Empress Sabina (Hadrian's wife) Roman Empire silver denarius coin, RIC 390, RSC 3a, minted 128-137 CE. NGC Certified to VF. Well struck & nicely detailed portrait of this queen. Obverse: SABINA AVGVSTA, Diademed and draped bust right, with queue and stephane. Reverse: CONCORDIA AVG, Concordia standing left, leaning on column, holding patera and double cornucopia. Concordia was the goddess of harmony and concord. She was a daughter of Ares and Aphrodite and as such presided over both marital harmony, soothing strife and discord, and harmonious action of soldiers in war. This reverse type is likely publicizing a harmonious relationship between Sabina and Hadrian.
