Almost Uncirculated Emperor Antoninus Pius Roman Empire silver denarius coin. Approx 19mm, 3.45 g, RIC 178v (bare head not listed), RSC 252a. Issued TR P XII = 148/49 CE. NGC Certified to AU, Strike 5/5, Surface 4/5. SUPERB style worthy of a "Star" designation. Obverse: ANTONINVS AVG PIVS PP TR P XII, bare head of emperor facing right. Reverse: COS IIII, Felicitas standing left holding long caduceus and cornucopia. Felicitas Goddess was the personification of good luck and success. Felicitas could encompass both a woman's fertility, and a general's luck or good fortune. She had a temple in Rome and her festivals were on July 1st and October 9th. She was frequently portrayed on coins as a symbol of the wealth and prosperity of the Roman Empire.
