Choice Almost Uncirculated Empress Faustina Jr. Roman Empire silver denarius coin. Faustina Jr. was the wife of Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Lifetime issue struck 160 CE at the Rome Mint. Approx 18mm, 3.35g, RIC 676, RSC 93, Foss 8 (attributed to 160 CE). Lightly toned with considerable luster, very attractive in hand! Commemorative issued to celebrate the growth of the Imperial Family. Faustina, Lucilla, Fadilla and Cornificia are presented on the reverse. Superb portrait of the Empress. Certified by NGC to Ch AU. Fecunditas is a Roman Goddess of female fertility and childbearing whose name means Fruitfulness. An appropriated type for Faustina as she and Marcus Aurelius produced 13 children.
