Historic emission struck to celebrate the conquest of Armenia and associated second donative. Sharp detailed portrait of Marcus Aurelius. Emperor's titles TR P XVIII = Dec 163 to Dec 164 CE. RIC 81,Foss 20 (attributed to 164 CE), 17.5mm, 3.49g. Certified by NGC to Ch XF, Strike 4/5, Surface 4/5. Obverse: ANTONINVS AVG ARMENIACVS, laureate head emperor right. Reverse: ARMEN (in ex.) P M TR P XVIII IMP II COS III, Armenia seated left on ground in mournful attitude, right hand to mouth, left hand rests on bow, vexillum and shield in background. A very appealing example of this historic type!
