Historic emission for the Emperor's Visit to Africa, with honors to the Punic god of healing (equivalent to Aesculapius). Rare reverse variety with Africa holding snake in left hand. Certified by NGC to MS toned with underlying lustrous surfaces. Pedigree: Ex. Empire Coins Auction #9, 30 April 1988, Lot 303 with original ticket.  Obverse: SEVERVS PIVS AVG, laureate bust of emperor facing right.
