Artist StatementRainbow Bridge is the largest natural bridge in the world measuring 290 feet in height and 275 feet in width. Now administered by Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Rainbow Bridge National Monument was established in 1910, but was difficult to access before the creation of Lake Powell in 1963 allowed approach by boat. It is sacred to local Native Americans, so visitors are no longer allowed to cross under or climb atop the sandstone formation. A trail leads around the bridge so visitors can reach overlooks on both sides. The painting depicts a view from the north along the trail. ‰ÛÓ Bruce and Scott Sink
