DALMATIAN STONE, spotted like the dog but without the barking Like the dog of a similar name, these DALMATIAN STONES from Mexico are a mass of black spots on a beige background.  Although it is often called a jasper, it is not a true jasper but a feldspar quartz. They are sorted and polished.  SIZE:  Medium, approximately 3/4" to 1".  (18-25mm).  Some stones will be larger.  Why?  See the section below on sorting.
