Apache Canyon dendritic rhyolite is an increasingly rare material from Deming, New Mexico that is noted for its awesome desert landscape scenes. Dark maroon silhouettes on a reddish/pink, and occasionally white/yellow background produce some amazing “rock pictures”. A very hard rhyolite, it takes a great polish, making exceptional finished pieces. A definite “must” for any serious artisan or rock collector. Origin: New Mexico Dimensions: 2.5" x 2" and approximately 6.2 mm thick. Weight = 46 grams. Shown wet. Not polished. No known flaws.
