Kumihimo is an ancient Japanese braiding technique employed to make rope ties for Kimonos.  Jewelers have adapted this technique to make beautiful cord or beaded ropes in many styles.  In this class we will complete a round 8 strand beaded bracelet or necklace.  Beginners will use round seed beads to learn, and those with experince will be encouraged to use various shaped beads to yield more complicated designs.  This is a popular class so sign up early!  Students need to come to shop a few days before class to pick out beads and  pre-string beads so that the entire class can be spent on weaving. Saturday, June 15th 9:30-12 $30 + materials ****We have a wide selection of glass and ceramic beads, gemstones, pearls, shell, wood and seed beads to choose from.  Students are asked not to bring in outside materials, but we will work with anyone needing to stay within a budget to find the perfect materials at the right price for their project.
