Sencha a well-known variety of green tea that makes up 80% of all green tea consumed in Japan. This single-origin sencha is made from young tea leaves that are steamed, which helps the leaves retain their color and fragrance, and then firmly kneaded. The finished tea is fine and needle-like in shape and has a slight bitterness with a fresh, leafy aroma when steeped. This tea can be enjoyed hot or cold.
