era: 1940s approx. modern size: up to a small/medium, could work for small + tall xsmall as well.  shoulders: 14" seem to seem with some extra room due to the puff sleevesbust: 38"waist: 30", cinch with ties to fithip: 42" sleeve length: 23"total length: 55-60"  lush black rayon velvet dressing gown (easily a dress by modern standards!) with peaked lightly padded shoulders, draped bell sleeves, and a sweeping skirt seamed and cut on the bias in the back for extra fullness and a slight high-low hem effect. neck ties, and a long metal bell-pull Talon zipper that ends just below the knee. cinches with ties at the waist. stunning and unusual embossed silver metal stud decoration across the bodice and upper sleeves of sprays of tulips and roses with decorative dot and bar accents. you will not find another.  labels: none found provenance: Acquired in the 1980s from the estate of a Georgia socialite, and maintained in one collection since that time. condition: excellent. fresh, sturdy, free
