Thursday Digital Art Lab Fall 2025

Stop Motion Animation Techniques + Mixed Media Art Explore the world of animation through a wide range of hands-on techniques in this Digital Art Lab. Students will experiment with flip books, found object animation, animated GIFs, chalkboard drawing, sand animation, paper cutouts, and more. Each week introduces a new method, from charcoal and foil animation to puppet making and stop motion with clay and LEGO. Digital tools like Flipaclip and OctoStudio will be integrated as students develop their own animated scenes. The class wraps up with a showcase where students share their favorite projects from the session. Class Objectives: Explore a variety of stop motion animation techniques including flip books, claymation, cut-paper, and object animation.
