Garnet & Pearl Victorian Slide Chain

This classic 19th century slide chain has a pretty diamond-shaped slide set with a small garnet and seed pearl. A long, thin chain with a decorative slide and finished with a watch hook, the slide glides on the chain and stays where you put it. Slide chains were originally designed to hold a ladies watch and can still be used for this, but they are so versatile. This chain can be doubled for a shorter look, and you can hang pendants, fobs, lockets, or whatever strikes your fancy from the hook. The slide and the chain are rosy gold filled. Circa 1870.
