Long Victorian Slide Chain with Tiny Pearls

Slide chains were originally designed to hold a ladies watch and can still be used for this, but they are very versatile. A long, thin chain with a decorative slide and ending in a watch hook, the slide glides on the chain and stays where you put it. The slide on this chain is diamond shaped and set with four tiny pearls. This chain can be doubled for a shorter look and you can hang pendants, fobs, lockets, or whatever strikes your fancy from the hook. The elements of this piece are gold filled. Circa 1880. Details.....The chain measures 48" long, the slide measures 8.7mm by 10.8mm. In Excellent Vintage condition, with a bit of wear to the back.
