Large 19th/20th C. Chinese Qing Soapstone Buddha Carving w/ Bamboo & Stand, 18”

This listing is for the exceptional large 19th/20th century Chinese Soapstone Buddha Carving pictured above.This exquisite carving depicts a buddha in meditation on top of a lotus flower, surrounded by bamboo and other natural plants and materials. This carving is composed of two parts, the stand and the upper portion. I am not an expert on Chinese soapstone, but the carving of the buddha leads me to believe this piece dates to the 19th or early 20th century.The entire carving including its base measures about 18 inches tall and 9 inches wide.Condition: There is some chipping/chunks missing from the back/bottom of the base as pictured above. There appears to be some small piece of soapstone missing above the buddha’s head as pictured. There is typical minor chipping/fritting to some parts of the carving. The base also has a crack visible on its front as pictured. This crack may have been repaired at some point. The piece displays absolutely beautifully.It will be difficult to come acro
