The Pierre II

Pierre moved to Brooklyn from Haiti 40+ years ago. He was a police officer and used to patrol Coney Island and Brighton Beach. He has three children - a son who is a doctor, one daughter who is a teacher, and one daughter who is a nurse. His wife passed away last year. Pierre enjoys dancing and making new friends. He says when he was younger he enjoyed going to parties. Over 10 years ago, Pierre’s friend from church recommended JASA’s NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) program and since then he goes almost every day. Pierre says it is so important to stay active and do things. He attends JASA’s exercise classes and dancing classes and enjoys going on trips with the seniors in his community. Most of all, he loves making new friends, and he loves making people laugh. He says he’ll go up to a group of people and start telling jokes.
