Graptopetalum superbum
With distinctly layered, flattened rosettes of broad gray and lavender leaves coated in a thick layer of powdery farina, G. superbum lends calming and peaceful vibes to any space of which it is a part. With each rosette reaching up to 5 inches in width, this variety makes an exceptional specimen plant on a sunny windowsill, or a high contrast component within container arrangements – especially when paired with bright green or deep red succulent cultivars! As is the case with most uniquely hued succulents, Superbum prefers bright lighting conditions – though it is overall less prone to etiolating than other rosette-shaped plants, such as Echeveria. It also strongly prefers dry growing conditions reminiscent of its native Mexico, with a thorough watering being provided only once the soil has become completely dried through from the last one. A porous soil mixture within a well-draining pot will help achieve this environment, as will ample airflow around the leaves and soil surface. Du
