Bookbinding Basics (in-person)3-week workshop

 In this class, students will be introduced to the fundamental tools, techniques, and materials used in the art of bookbinding. The course is designed for beginners, providing a solid foundation for anyone curious about the craft or interested in making their own journals, sketchbooks, or simple hardcover books. Participants will familiarize themselves with essential bookbinding tools, while learning the correct terminology associated with the craft. Students will explore adhesives, paper types and cloths, gaining an understanding of their unique properties.  By the end of the 3-week workshop, students will have completed several small, hand-bound books. We will cover single and double signature pamphlets and variations in week 1, hard-cover accordions and concertinas in week 2, and a single-signature case binding in week 3. All materials are included. We will meet on Sundays from 2-5pm March 2, 9, & 16  at the studio in Fayetteville. This class is limited to 7 students.   NOTE: P
