Survival 1: Foundations of Survival Weekend

The essential WEEKEND Survival 1 Foundation skills course will enable you to out into the wilderness and get home safely.  This course is a foundation level for folks with little to no experience in the outdoors. Weekend topics include: Survival progression & routines Hitches, knots and lashings Quick shelters Basic Fire: matches, lenses, lighters, ferro rods, tinder Types of fire lays Water purification Basic Map & compass Aid-less navigation Plants for food, medicine and other uses Intro: foraging, medicinals and utilities Maine Primitive Skills School offers campsites to students during their stay at no extra charge. When preparing to arrive, plan as if you were going on a comfortable car camping experience. You will have easy access to your vehicles during meals and before and after course times.
