Dumortierite is often confused with denim lapis lazuli; however, it is a distinct aluminum-rich mineral that only occurs at high temperatures within the Earth's crust. This particular dumortierite is from Mozambique and is considered to be grade A material with GREAT color. This crushed material is extremely clean and has a rich denim-blue color when wet.  Our coarse material is considered to be pea- sized gravel, ranging between 4 millimeters to 2 millimeters.
