He has openly embraced the traditions that have kept this northern Beaune appellation a hidden gem. This Vieilles Vignes is sourced from three parcels planted with vines averaging over 50 years old: Planchots de la Champagne, Dessus les Gollardes and Vermots. Complex and balanced, this Savigny-les-Beaunes is as honest of an expression of the terroir of this under-appreciated commune as you will find. Don't be fooled by the light color; it reveals a rich symphony of dried red currant, fresh berries, and autumn spices.
