Viburnum carlesii Spice Island™ (Korean Spice Viburnum)

A more compact version of Viburnum carlesii, small space gardeners can now enjoy this stunning, aromatic shrub that tops out at 4-5’ tall. Rounded clusters of blush pink buds open to white flowers with a sweet, spicy vanilla perfume in early spring. Unlike other Viburnum carlesii, Spice Island® flowers appear against a back drop of fully emerged, deep green leaves making their snow-ball like flowers pop. Leaves turn a brilliant burgundy and red in the fall. Beautiful as a specimen or hedge, plant in a location where you can enjoy the delicious fragrance.  Plant 4’ apart.
