Thelocactus lloydii major is a solitary and strongly armed cactus with depressed and globose form. It is a grey to bluish-green cacti. It has reddish-white-brown central spines that have sharp yellowish-crimson tips. It grows up to 8-12 cm broad . It blooms a light pink to almost white with a darker midline. The stigma is a pinkish to yellowish coloring. This summer growing species is easy to cultivate.
