The unit has been upgraded with a brand new latest generation GPS receiver from ublox giving super-quick signal lock (with a good antenna) and ensuring correct date display beyond 2035. The LCD display does not have a backlight (normal on these). It has been tested to confirm that it works as it should. The unit comes with a basic antenna to allow you to test the unit immediately upon receipt. For a permanent installation an outdoor antenna with a full view of the sky will be required. Operation from behind a windows is unlikely to be satisfactory. The antenna voltage is 5V so almost any professional GPS antenna of at least 26dB will suffice. The firmware
