Art Deco Made in Vienna Boxed Set of 10 Handpainted Celluloid Place Cards

Dating to the Art Deco period, C.1920 or so and originally a set of 12, I hereby offer a set of 10, hand painted on celluloid with piercing, place cards. Still in their original box, the place cards retain their original stands and there is one extra in case of loss. The cards are of the same theme - single ladies, single gents, couples and children all doing "something" under a tree, all the folk in early Regency or Victorian clothing. The coloring to each card is very muted and one can tell immediately that the designs are all rendered by the same artisan. I can't tell what was used to color the celluloid but it must be an oil derivative as watercolor would wash easily off each card. (Painting is on one side only.) Very ornate cards that are slightly different than the ones currently on offer on RL. CONDITION: The 10 celluloid pieces are in excellent shape though there is a slight discoloration to the celluloid here and there near where the celluloid sits in the holder. No major dama
