Rolex Date 34 mm ref.1501 "Tropical Dial" fullset from 1963

The Rolex  ref. 1501 is a classic model renowned for its elegance and functionality. Introduced in the 1960s and produced until the mid-70s, it features an automatic Caliber 1570 movement, known for robustness and precision. The 34 mm stainless steel case, with a distinctive engine-turned bezel, suits both men and women. Dials come in various colors like black, silver, and blue. This piece has an incredible black dial that has faded to a caramel brown hue over time. The lume plots are healthy, so we know for a fact that this watch was never exposed to water damage and faded naturally. The timepiece was sold in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico in 1966. We had the opportunity to acquire this watch from the original owner's son.
