The Laqueada "Gilt" dial is one of the rarest variations ever produced in the classic Datejust model series. These dials are highly prone to changing their tone to "tropical dial" brown, and their manufacture is exceptional, very different from conventional dials, possessing a unique shine and mirror finish on the text when the dial is in good condition. These dials in steel models fall within the serial number range 1.1xxxxx to 1.5xxxxx and were produced for a very short period of time between 1964 and 1967. The present watch is a true rarity in excellent condition, with the properties of the dial reflecting slight brown tones under natural daylight.
