Tudor Submariner double ref.7016/0 7528 de 1968
Tudor introduced the 7016/0 reference officially in 1969 to replace the 7928 reference which had been in production since 1959. The main difference between these two models was the movement. Previously, the Tudor Submariner was equipped with the calibre 390 made by Fleurier, but with the introduction of the 7016/0, the brand opted for the more robust and reliable calibre 2483 from ETA's manufacture. Interestingly, in between these two references, the transitional double reference 7016/0 7528 was produced just before the introduction of the 7016/0. This watch was only produced in 1968 and its serial number falls within the range of 62x,xxx. Without a doubt, it is a historically important and very rare watch due to its limited production. We could say that it was a small experiment by the brand to test these new movements in its diving watches, which we know was successful since the 7016/0 was produced until 1975.
