Vacheron Constantin "Triple Stepped" 18k ref.6399 de 1961
Vacheron Constantin in a letter to its authorized distributors dated in the 1950s indicated that it had never released more than 24 specimens with the same design, which explains the countless variations of watches that can be found. This watch features a rare and desirable stepped case and an ultra-thin K1001 caliber with small seconds, making it a superb and elegant piece, not to mention a reference with a history as we have seen specimens of the 6399 in international auctions closing at more than 5 figures, as happened in November 2021 with a white gold specimen closing at $13,300 USD including buyer's premium. The condition of this piece is unparalleled, the passage of time generated a patina with violet and reddish hues on the watch case adding personality and character, undoubtedly it would have been sacrilege to remove the patina from this piece so we chose to preserve it.
