Pepper - Bastan Poblano - Capsicum annum Tender Annual, F1 Hybrid High-yielding bushes produce 5" single to two-lobed shaped peppers that are dark green and ripen to a reddish brown. Poblano peppers are a favorite for stuffing because of their thick walls and mild to hot flavor. They are called Ancho when dried. These peppers are a favorite for stuffing and for making chili relleno. Did You Know? The heat of the chili is actually in the veins or membranes (surrounding the seeds), not from the seeds themselves. Soil and Water: Peppers require deeply worked, well-drained soil with plenty of added organic matter and a pH of 6.0-6.8. Water deeply, but don't over water. Planting and Growing: Start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Stake to keep fruit off the ground and mulch for disease and weed control.
