Green and Red Ribbon

Host Disease (GVHD) is a complicated and painful disease that can affect several parts of the body in different ways. During my research, I discovered that there isn’t a specific color representing GVHD, but I did find a red bracelet used to raise awareness for the disease. Since you can only get GVHD after having a transplant, and because transplants are symbolized by the color green, I felt it was fitting to add a touch of green at the very beginning of this ribbon. Wearing a ribbon holds diverse meaning - it could signify your journey with a diagnosis, express solidarity with patients and survivors, or pay tribute to those we’ve lost.
