Description We were very fortunate to acquire a collection of ceramic works by celebrated UK artist David Garland, who is often referred to as a "painter in clay." We especially love this one because he did -- very much -- paint on this one. Every inch of it in fact. Fabulous! From a prominent Chicago collector. About the Artist Born in England in 1941, David Garland grew up in New Zealand. In 1961 he returned and trained at the London College of Printing. Later, he taught there, and at the Bath Academy of Art, Corsham, as a senior lecturer. During that period he was also a working artist and had his first one-man exhibition of paintings at the Drian Galleries in 1963.
