A similar scheme was employed six years later at the Ramsgate Practice Team tournament which was won by Capablanca. There was no World Champion or former World Champion at Scheveningen but there were several grandmasters from abroad and in addition the Dutch team was headed by a young player, Euwe, who was to become World Champion some twelve years later.
