
Engineering in the World Around Us
This course will allow students to understand the everyday infrastructure and engineering systems that shape the world around them — roads, bridges, water systems, electrical grids, and buildings. The course breaks down complex concepts into simple, visual explanations, encouraging students to recognize and appreciate the engineering hidden in plain sight in their own communities. It would blend basic civil engineering principles with real-world examples and videos throughout the course This is an 18-week course is part of our "On-Your-Own" series, so students can learn at their pace without set class times. It will be composed of textbook readings, videos, articles, weekly quizzes, midterm, and final exam.
