JOB-05 L’Afrique Archives Wallpaper by Studio Job

Overview L'Afrique emerged from the collaboration with Land Rover (2012 - 2013). Studio Job were asked to design and produce a unique, sculptural Land Rover Defender on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the iconic vehicle. The Defender is strongly rooted in Africa. They therefore asked manufacturer Vlisco -  a specialist. 7 Designs from the library of Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel of Studio Job were selected for the collection “Archives Wallpaper by Studio Job”. The collection reflects a retrospect of the history of Studio Job. They used archetypal drawings and these universal symbols are combined as iconographic elements for patterns, compositions and embossing, ultimately creating 6 designs.
