Stetson - Loose Talk Can Cost Lives - Periscope
Not all WWII posters were created by the US Government. This poster, part of a highly popular campaign, was created by Stetson Hats and warned of the dangers of sharing sensitive information about troop movements. Here, an enemy submarine takes aim for a second shot at destroying an American Naval ship. The "Keep it Under Your Stetson" campaign of posters led the phrase to become just as popular of a catch phrase as "Loose Lips Sink Ships" during WWII in America. Stetson was founded in 1865 by John B. Stetson in Philadelphia, after he returned from a trip out West and was not able to find a suitable hat for the expedition. He is known as the inventor of the cowboy hat, and the company continues to make them to this day (Stetson has been bought and sold several times since its founding). This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is linen backed and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all our posters.
