It isn't every day that you come across a 10,000-year-old piece of jewelry, but that's what we have for you! I'm sure there is some wonderfully adventurous story about the discovery of this arrowhead and why it was decided to turn it into an exquisite piece of jewelry, but sadly we do not know it. What we can tell you is that this is the typical flint arrowhead or foliate point design of the Neolithic period. Since this arrowhead was used without the aid of barbs on the point, it is believed that natural poisons may have been used in conjunction with these types of points. This arrowhead was transformed into this lovely brooch sometime in the latter half of the 19th century.  The metal straps and back mount are made of 18k gold, however the pin mechanism itself is plated. Definitely one hell of a conversation piece!
