Chacra was created by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta in 2004 with the intention of finding the most unobstructed expression of the climate, micro-climate, and terrior of Mainqué in the Río Negro region of Patagonia. Respecting the environment by following biodynamic and organic principles, Piero strives to make wines that are transparent, pure, delicate, and floral with strong minerality. The wines are produced with the help of Jean-Marc Roulot (of Burgundy fame), particularly for the Chardonnay. Jean-Marc is not a consultant here. He's a co-owner.The Pinot Noir Cincuenta y Cinco comes from vineyards planted in 1955 which gently rest on a sea of pebbles, typical in riverbed soils.
