This Sangiovese is a fresh and vibrant expression of this Italian varietal. Aromas of ripe red cherries, strawberries, and anise entwined with elegant rusticity. On the palate, the wine unfolds with flavors of juicy strawberries, hints of red plum, and a touch of earthiness that evokes the essence of the varietal. Sourced from the Rivers Edge Vineyard which was planted in 1995 and sits in sandy loam soils adjacent to the Mokelumne River. The Mokelumne River AVA is located in the greater Lodi AVA. This vineyard benefits from cooler climatic conditions often influenced by the Pacific Ocean and the Mokelumne River.
