"The No. 2 seed, Duke Blue Devil's head coach, Mike Krzyzewski, held his farewell tour during the 2021-2022 season. He retired after his 42-year (1980-2022) career at Duke, coaching the men's basketball team. By building a truly fantastic program, coach K led the Devils to five national championships, fifteen ACC tournaments, and thirteen final fours. Needless to say, Krzyzewski is recognized as one of the greatest college basketball head coaches in the nation. His career came to an end on Saturday, April 2, with a Devils loss 81-77 to the North Carolina Tar Heels in 2022 Final Four. Although the marathon did not end as he would have expected, the leadership of coach K was evident in the team and individual performance of the Blue Devils.
