This lively Edwardian ring has a shape that’s sometimes referred to as a ‘boat’ ring in that it resembles the hull of a ship. I came across it while wandering the isles of the indoor market in Newark, England. I couldn’t help but bring it home, I’m a sucker for a beautiful, original and fully hallmarked ring!  This antique ruby and diamond beauty was handcrafted in Birmingham, England, in 1906. It is made of 18 karat gold and features five bright pink rubies kissed with red and 16 sparkling rose and full cut Old European diamonds. The center ruby measures 3 x 3.7 x 2.3 mm. The encircling diamonds are graduated, with smaller stones at the ends and larger ones toward the middle. This piece is fully marked and bears a crown and anchor, for Birmingham, England, the gold purity content number, ‘18’, and the letter date ‘g’ for 1906. It also has a maker’s mark. This ring is a size 6.5 and weighs 3.8 grams, it would be difficult to re-size by more than about a half size.  I offer layaway on
