Edwardian Platinum Ruby Diamond Ring
She wore rubies. Not diamonds, no nothing as pedestrian as that. Not sapphires, for though they had appeal she knew in her heart of hearts that she was a rare gem indeed and only the most rare and sought after was good enough for her. So, she sought out that most elusive castle in the air, the pure, brightly sparkling ruby. This was her ring.Made in the heart of Edwardian times, and very classical in style, this ring features a row of stunning red rubies kissed with magenta. The diamonds are encircled in a halo of Old European cut diamonds for added drama and sparkle. The 5 cushion cut rubies weigh approximately 0.70 carats in all and the diamonds are on average 0.05 carats each, there are 24 in all for a weight in total of about 1.20 carats. The hand crafted platinum setting is unmarked but tests as platinum. This ring measures 9 mm north to south and 20 mm across at the face, it narrows to 1.5 mm at the back of the band and sits 5 mm off the finger, a rather low and smooth profile. T
