A utilitarian object that has been decorated very artistically - and with a sense of humor. Flattened bronze has been stamped with a design of an immortal with a plantain leaf and umbrella waiting for his dinner. The immortal is pointing to the pot on the hook. A lotus flower is at the top and the figure rests on a platform above clouds. A hook with a blunt end has been riveted to the figural top. There is a small hole at the top of the lotus flower for hanging up the hook. MEASUREMENTS 8 ¾” (22.2 cm) tall x 4 ½” (11.4 cm) wide. Weighs 3.1 oz (90 g) CONDITION There are no dents, breaks, or cracks. The hook swivels a bit on the rivet. The metal has taken on a darker patina from age and usage. The edges of the stamped plate are darker than the center A fun antique pot hook that you can use today for a range of uses from hanging plants to holding up tea towels in the kitchen.
