Roman Empire silver denarius coin issued 157/8 CE, RIC 475. Minted for Marcus Aurelius as Caesar and adopted son of Emperor Antoninus Pius. Older portriat with full facial hair.  Certified by NGC to XF. Obverse: AVRELIVS CAESAR ANTON AVG PII F, bare head right. Reverse: TR POT XII COS II, Felicitas standing left leaning on column and holding caduceus and scepter. Felicitas was the personification of good luck and success. Felicitas could encompass both a woman's fertility, and a general's luck or good fortune. She had a temple in Rome and her festivals were on July 1st and October 9th. She was frequently portrayed on coins as a symbol of the wealth and prosperity of the Roman Empire.
