The purpose of this educational course is to enhance the knowledge and clinical skills of all registered nurses in conducting a comprehensive, trauma-informed, patient-centered medical forensic examination and specimen collection. After completing this learning activity, the participant should be able to: Recognize the intersection of the science of nursing and forensic nursing. Recognize trauma-informed, culturally competent patient-centered care. Identify appropriate use of Informed Consent. Identify the scope and limitations of confidentiality issues.
