2022 Marc Colin et Fils Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru En Cailleret

A recent arrival, Marc Colin created this estate in the 1970s with his wife through holdings inherited by his family, the well-known Colins. Many of the vineyards he was granted had been in the family's possession for over a century. Like all of the Colins, they specialize in White Burgundy as natives of Chassagne Montrachet. Though the vineyards have been split up among many family members, they continue to do the Colin name justice. Today, Marc's children, Damien and Caroline, run the estate, and they now work 12 hectares spanning 26 appellations. The brother and sister duo practice Lutte Raisonee and are experimenting with organic practices in some vineyards. They have continued to produce exceptional examples from their family holdings, many of which contain old vines. Their Chassagne Montrachet Les Cailleret is their best premier cru and has become very hard to find, with most of the production not leaving Europe.
